Some movies

In this occasion, I will write about cinema and recommend several movies of differents countries. In my opinion, these represent a good kind of cinema. If you enjoy good producction and you are looking for more than a happy ending, you should see these movies.

From the United Kingdom, "Midnight express" (1978) was directed by Alan Parker (same director of "The Wall" movie). The film is set in Istambul(Turkey) in the 1970s. This film is about a North American guy who is arrested in the airport of Istanbul by carrying drugs (Hachís). This guy is treated as a drug dealer and his trip by Istambul becomes a nightmare.

From Sweden: "All Things Fair" (1995) was directed by Bo Widerberg. The film is set in a Sweden public school in 1943 during the Second World War. This film is about a schoolteacher who falls in love of one of his pupils. Stig, the pupil is just 15 years old. The actor who plays the role of Stig is the director's son.

From Italy: "Pasqualino: Seven Beauties" (Pasqualino Settebellezze,1975) was directed by Lina Wertmüller. The film is set in Naples in 1936. This film is about of the misadventures of a young proletarian who kill the seducer of his seven sisters, Pasqualino is detained in a mental hospital criminals coming out as a volunteer for war, ending in a German concentration field becomes Kapo (responsible for an internal hut). He is forced to kill his best friend.
Pasqualino is called "seven beauties" because, your seven sister aren't very beatiful.

From Germany: "Nosferatu" (1922) was directed by F.W. Murnau.
This film is the first version for cinema by the Bram Stoker's novel "Drácula", but for problems with the copyright, it's named "Nosferatu" which means "Dracula", in old Czech language.
The Stoker's widow was able to recognize the authorship of the plot, and obtained a court order to destroy the negatives and all copies of the film. The copies distributed in the rest of the world prevented its total disappearance.
This is a silent film, also is a Blank and White film.

Others movies that recomend are:
From Spain, was directed by Pedro Almodovar: All about my mother (1999).
From USA, was directed by David Lynch: Lost Highway (1997)
From URSS, was directed by Grigori Chukhrai: The Ballad of the Soldier (1959)

Now, bring the popcorn and enjoy the good cinema!!
